Bayer China Volunteer Platform
Guided by our mission of “Health for all, Hunger for none,” Bayer is committed to sustainable development and actively fulfills its corporate social responsibility. As an integral part of the company’s culture, the Bayer China Volunteer Platform organizes and supports employee volunteer initiatives that promote quality education, environmental protection, and diversity and inclusion.
About the Bayer China Volunteer Platform
On May 12, 2008, a devastating magnitude 8.0 earthquake struck Wenchuan County in Sichuan Province. Volunteers from across China rushed to the affected areas to support rescue and relief efforts, including Bayer China employees who volunteered in Jiangyou. To provide a more structured approach to these initially spontaneous volunteer activities, the Bayer Volunteers Association, later renamed the Bayer China Volunteer Platform, was established in 2009. Since then, the platform has enabled Bayer employees to contribute to society and support communities in need.
Unlike other Bayer departments, the Bayer China Volunteer Platform is managed by employee volunteers. In their spare time, members contribute their professional expertise and skills to support social development, create positive social impact and fulfill the company's commitment to social responsibility. Through a wide range of volunteer and community initiatives, the platform promotes health awareness, advances social inclusion and supports environmental protection.
The Bayer China Volunteer Platform not only provides employees with opportunities to give back to society, but also helps share the values of caring for others, protecting the environment, and supporting education and cultural exchange with the wider community.
